Description

Description

Smocked aprons was apron with decorative needlework on band, popular in at least 14th to 16th century.

Several depictions of such an apron are known in iconography, but the most accurate representation is a encraving by Albrecht Dürer „Melancholia I” from 1514. Earlier depictions of this type of apron are not very clear and we can only guess at how the design was made. The one here is very fine and time-consuming, and therefore extremely impressive.

The product is sewn to order entirely by hand.

The embroidery can be done in the color of the fabric or in a contrasting color (best to ask me about the possibilities before ordering).

The apron can be sewn from white linen or unbleached in natural color (leave me a comment with choosen color)

Please provide in the comments to your order your waist and hip circumference and height, so I can best adjust the size of the apron. Otherwise, I will sew a standard size.
